WILLIAM GRANT & Sons distils some of the world’s leading spirits, and builds some of the most distinctive premium brands in the world.
Named Distiller of the Year and Scotch Whisky Producer of the Year at the prestigious International Spirits Challenge awards in 2017, this independent family-owned distiller has now increased its presence in the Malaysian market with the opening of its Representative Office, and change in route to market, at a recent Trade Party event.
Industry sources say the move is likely to be a good one for William Grant & Sons, that could lead to more competitive pricing for its products in the Malaysian market, especially for the world’s most awarded single malt, Glenfiddich.
Commenting on the Trade Party, Satya Sharma, the company’s general manager for Singapore, Malaysia, and Philippines, said: “We are delighted to host our trade partners and appointed importers as we build such an important and strategic market for our portfolio of premium brands which include Glenfiddich, The Balvenie, Monkey Shoulder, Grants, and Hendrick’s.”
William Grant & Sons has also appointed Tong Woh Enterprise, Luen Heng F&B, and CSS Food & Beverage as its official importers to help distribute its market-leading premium portfolio of brands within its stable.
The importers will provide activation, logistics and customer support to the market, as well as supply outlets, wholesalers, local merchants and re-sellers with the portfolio of William Grant & Sons brands.
Elaborating on the market outlook, Satya said: “We see a lot of potential to build our brands within Malaysia, and are confident that, together with our partners, our team will be able to nurture current relationships, and develop new ones to realise our lofty ambitions.
“We believe in long-term brand building, and are always looking to create memorable experiences that allow us to engage with consumers and create deeper connections.”
